Sharpening and Maintenance

Under normal use and with proper care, Sandrin Knives with StaySharp Technology™ may retain their edge indefinitely.  However, we do have customers that love to use their knives for everything so we offer the ability to purchase at home sharpeners, and a mail in Sharpening service.

KMFS Rival Sharpening Kit

Sharpening Polyhedral Tungsten Carbide requires high-quality diamond stones and lapping films to get a sharp and usable edge.  We’ve found the stones and sharpening system provided by KMFS in the Czech Republic to be up to the task and will allow you to sharpen and even re-profile your Sandrin Knife as well as any other steel knives you may have.  We also have directions on the best way to use the KMFS or other similar sharpeners on your Sandrin knife available on the product page.

Sandrin Knife Sharpening Service

We can resharpen most blades using the KMFS system to a near-factory edge, however knives that have excessive damage may need to have the edge reprofiled.  Our USA sharpening service includes insured and tracked 2-way shipping via USPS.  In order to send your Sandrin Knife in for sharpening, please follow these directions:

  1. Pay for the sharpening service below which includes shipping both ways.
  2. Input your return address as the shipping address at checkout.
  3. After checking out, you will receive a USPS shipping label to the email address you specify. (please note this process will take up to one BUSINESS day)
  4. Place the knife in a SMALL prepaid box that is available at any Post Office free of charge and attach the shipping label to the box and deposit the box at the post office.
  5. Please allow 2-3 weeks turnaround.
